The Tripper paddle is the best-selling model from Badger, and is very popular for solo or tandem paddlers and perfect for gentle rivers and lake/loch paddling.

The Tripper canoe paddle is a traditional otter-tail shape with a mid-sized blade. It has a smooth, quiet stroke and is particularly effective in deeper water where the whole blade can be submerged at the midpoint of the stroke. For those looking or a high-end Badger paddle for shallower water, the BadgerTail would be more suitable.

Constructed from oiled Cherrywood, which is a close-grained hardwood. This is a strong and light paddle with a gentle natural flex when pressure is applied. As with all Badger paddles there is a dihedral transitional ridge along the spine of the blade. This provides strength and a smooth flow of water around the blade, resulting in fluid and efficient paddle strokes.

Each Badger Tripper comes supplied with a paddle sock to protect against scratches and scrapes in storage or transport.

Forest Edition Tripper: We also have a limited number of Forest Edition Tripper paddles available in the UK. These have a custom engraved paddle tree on the blade to give a unique look. For every one of these paddles sold, the One Tree Planted organisation will plant one tree in a tree planting project somewhere on the planet.

Badger Paddles Oil

The Badger Wood Oil is all natural and specifically designed for use on solid wood open canoe paddles, gunwales, yokes & thwarts. Most oiled canoe paddles and parts come pre-oiled and how often they should be re-finished really does depend on the use it gets, however re-oiling your gear will help prolong its life and keep it going for years to come.

When oiling your paddle first prepare the wood by making sure it is clean and dry. Sand where necessary and ensure the surface is free of loose particles and dust. Apply Badger Wood Oil with a clean cloth then allow to stand so the oil can soak into the wood. Wipe away any excess with a clean rag then leave to dry for 12 - 24 hours before use.
