A lightweight, quiet and very efficient electric motor for your Hobie Mirage kayak. The Evolve V2 Motor Drive system uses a Torqueedo Ultralight motor for unrivalled performance. Use the motor to power your day on the water or use it to augment the mirage drive for easier pedalling over long distance trips. The Evolve will maintain a steady cruising speed of 2 knots (motor only) for several hours (see table in features tab). Open up the throttle and the motor will burst into life for short sprints! Great for longer touring trips, and for use as a trolling motor for fishing.

The remote throttle control box with LCD display allows you to see exactly how much battery life you have left. The system has built-in GPS allowing the display of trip info such as speed and range. The Throttle attaches to the kayak via a Ram Mount (included) for ultimate flexibility in viewing angle and position allowing you to control the motor from your favourite seating position. For safety, the unit features a magnetic key-to-throttle connection; break this magnetic connection and the motor immediately stops.

The Evolve Motor will fit straight into the Mirage Drive well on your Hobie kayak - simply take out your Mirage Drive and plug in the Evolve Drive! When running into shallow water simply lift the Evolve out onto the deck, or store in your front hatch. The Evolve can also be rudder mounted. It is light enough to be installed onto the rudder assembly and can easily be hauled/deployed using the rudder up/down toggles in the cockpit. In this position the Mirage Drive system can also be used, with the motor augementing the forwards motion. The rudder mount option is not compatible with inflatable series, Island series or Pro Anglers.

Optional Lithium-Manganese Batteries available with charger.

Battery Options:

The eVolve V2 can be powered by the optional lightweight Lithium-Manganese battery - 915wh. The battery is completely waterproof. Store it inside the hull, or mount it securely in your tank well. The battery features a Solar Charge/Run Port for the optional Evolve Solar Panel.

Mounting Options

The Evolve Motor can be mounted in two ways on your Hobie kayak: either in the Mirage Drive well, or mounted on the Twist and Stow Rudder.

Mirage Drive Well Installation

The Evolve Motor will fit straight into the Mirage Drive well on your Hobie kayak - simply take out your Mirage Drive and plug in the Evolve Drive! When running into shallow water simply lift the Evolve out onto the deck, or store in your front hatch.

Rudder Mounted Installation

The Evolve motor is light enough to be installed on the rudder assembly and can easily be hauled/deployed using the rudder up/down toggles in the cockpit. In this position the Mirage Drive system can also be used, with the motor augementing the forwards motion.
